Art in the Garden: A Water Colour Experience

This wonderful 3 day series of residential sessions at Hillcroft will delight all water colour artists from beginners to the more advanced, set in the idyllic backdrop of our unique and beautiful heritage buildings and secluded gardens, a must for all painters. Under the guidance of artist and author Rosemary Williams, you will get to know your media, explore a series of short practical exercises from mark-making to composition, planning, colours and techniques, followed by diagnostic and creative discussion . This fabulous painting experience will lead you forward into many hours of creative fun with water colours.

Rosemary Williams:
Holds a BA in Fine Art , has lectured across the world and is author to many books in painting including the 1993 best seller ‘A Beginners Guide to Painting in Water Colours’ She is also a guide at the Tate Modern.

You will need:
Paints • Watercolour • Acrylic • Poster-colour • Gouache • Inks •Paper • Cartridge • Watercolour paper
Brushes • Sable or Fur • a mixture of sizes Drawing • Pencils • Charcoal • Rubber • Drawing board • Brown tape • Tissues/ sponges • Pallet • Jam jar • Easel • Resists (optional)
