Hillcroft Changes Lives

Empowering Women Through Education

When I was at school, the teachers told me I would never make anything of myself. It was only when I discovered Hillcroft College that things changed. The staff and tutors were exceptional and supported me through their Access Course. I have gone on to successfully complete my degree at St Mary’s University.”
Odette Stapley (Hillcroft Access Student)

Hillcroft is a vibrant and innovative National Residential College for Women of 19 and above. (There is no upper age limit). In 2014 Hillcroft received an Ofsted grade 2 GOOD College.

Set in 3 acres of secluded gardens, and is only 15 minutes by train from Waterloo. Since 1920 Hillcroft has been helping Women change their lives through education.

So if you are looking for a new skill, direction or just want to improve your talents, Hillcroft can help you.

No formal entrance qualifications are required.

Special attention is always paid to the needs of individual learners and the College is proud of the amount of learning support it is able to offer.

You will find weekend and weekday activities; courses that run for one to four weeks and the longer pre university programmes.

A quote from one of our recent students:

'Thank you so much for such a quick positive reply to my applications for four courses. I am so happy that I will be back at your college as for me every moment in your college is such a great joy, really look forward to staying in your magic college again' (Hillcroft Student)

Our peaceful and secluded atmosphere creates an ideal space for your studies, where you can make new friends and enjoy a welcome break from the pressures of everyday life. Over 500 women a year change their lives at Hillcroft.

There’s a lot to do at Hillcroft from Photography to film making, Photoshop to spread sheets, confidence building and communication and for those of you who wish to refresh their English and maths we can take you back to basics and help you rebuild your functional skills.

The Access to HE  programmes which starts every autumn at the college has seen many women successfully go onto university to complete degrees, with further level three courses to support women in their professional and personal development.
