`The Gables' purchased freehold Accommodation for 28 students, six acres of land and theatre.
Opens in the changed name of Hillcroft College in 1926

Miss Ashby appointed as Principal - theatre sold to help meet rising costs.

1939-1943
Evacuation to Selly Oak, due to falling student numbers and risk of war damage.

1944
New Education Act strengthens case for adult education - LEA's make more generous grants.

1947-1963
Constance Dyson is Principal. Difficulty in students obtaining grants for no qualifying course.

1963-1982
Janet Cockerill appointed as Principal Development of Social Studies
Diploma Courses recognised and validated by CNAA in 1974

1982
Phoebe Lambert appointed Principal.

1989
Eileen Aird appointed Principal. Access Certificate in Higher Education validated by the OU.

1992
Hillcroft becomes one of the Specialist Designated Colleges under the aegis of the FEFC (now the Learning and Skills Council). Continued growth and expansion of provision continuing to focus on adult women who have been disadvantaged by educational, social or economic factors.

1996 to present
June Ireton appointed Principal. College programme of provision diversified to include a wide range of accredited IT, Business and ESOL courses with a duration varying from 2 days to a whole year of study.
