Private Donors
Hillcroft was created as a result of the tenacity of its founders, and the work and funds of Thomas Wall, who in 1920 helped to finance the first and only national residential working women’s college.
Like many of the philanthropists’ of his time Thomas gave generously, to help the many women who had little education or the opportunity to learn and progress.
Hillcroft to-day is a very different place to the one that first opened its doors all those years ago, with more courses and opportunities than ever before, but its mission remains the same, to help those who need a quiet and gentle place to learn and reflect; to grow and to develop.
To this day Hillcroft still relies on private donors; even now funds are desperately needed in order to continue the work begun so many years ago, and in this our 90th year we invite you to contribute to this unique and worthwhile charity.
